Ø 13 May 2008: The students of Nepal Sangeet Vidhalaya, Pingalasthan presented a
program dubbed "Music and Dance" on 10th May at Pashupati Briddhashram in Gaushala which was organized by the students of St. Xavier's College.The students performed different kinds of songs from bhajan and folk to
Nepali pop and modern to their older generation of audiences.

Ø 08 May 2008: The European Commission and the Hyatt Regency Kathmandu are jointly
organizing a flamenco concert to celebrate May as the month of Europe
at the Hyatt Regency Hotel on May 11.Hyatt Regency will also be opening their Hyatt Jazz Club — “HyJazz” on the same occasion.The organizers informed that the concert will feature the legendary
Spanish flamenco jazz musician Jorge Pardo with his band Vientos
Flamencos.The event is coordinated by Infinity International and the Kathmandu Jazz Conservatory (KJC).

Ø 30 Apr 2008:
The popular flutist Prem Rana "Autari" who is a member of the famous Nepali folk-classical ensemble Sur Sudha has released his latest solo instrumental album entitled “Sadhana of the Medicine Buddha” under the label of SAC Music.The album has altogether eight compositions which include The Wind, Ocean (Feel The Peace), Midnight, The Thunder, The Evening, The Morning Shows, Walking and Feelings of The Mountain.All tracks in the album are arranged and mixed by Rana himself and pre-mastered by Pradeep Upadhyaya.

The 1st stage of "Save Music Yatra" took place in gurjudhara with a huge crowd and huge success with a theme of stopping piracy and save music.Now the 2nd stage of Save Music yatra is going to take place at Lalitpur Bisal Bajar which is organised by Ritesh Criss and the artist performing live on stage are Nepsydaz, Reshma sunuwar, Dibya subba, Mingma sherpa, Pramod Nirwan, 9double7, The Shadows,Madzone, Agantuk Kharel, Ciney gurung, X-Mantra, Kidsoul, Rabi Bajracharya, Indira joshi, Deepak gauchan, Ethos, Nitin Thapa, Shivagand.All the artist performing there will register an organisation name "save music yatra organisation" and will also make a song with a music video title save music.They are soon goin to launch a site for save music.Save Music Yatra will continue at Bhaktapur,Kirtipur,kathmandu and abroad.

Ø 25 Apr 2008: The popular band The Axe Band is scheduled to perform live in concert in 5th Fewa Festival, Pokhara on 26th April in Basundhara Park, Pokhara.

Ø 24 Apr 2008: A special musical programme was organised at the Russian Culture Center on 22th April to celebrate the 100th year of Nepal Sugam Sangeet and the 63rd Anniversary of the Great Victory Patriotic War (1941-1945).Various personalities related to Nepali music and literature like
Kishor Gurung, Raju Singh, Dipak Jangam, Deep Shrestha among others
were present at the programme.The other highlight of the event was the release of musical album
called "Mero sano sansaar". The album which was released by Bairagi
Kainla, also includes an unreleased song written by Dibya Khaling and
sung by legendary singer Narayan Gopal.

Ø 22 Apr 2008:
Singer Avinash Ghising has come out with his new album "Hill Area" which includes nine songs with the folk tunes and melodies of the Nepali hills.The musicians in the album include Shyam Nepali on sarangi, Gopal Nepali on flute and Bishal Gurung, Sunil Bardewa, and Sachin Singh on guitars. Hill Area is released under the label of Music.com.

Ø 19 Apr 2008:
Nepali Society Singapore organised a special function to mark the Nepali
New Year 2065.The night function saw series of Nepali cultural and literary performances
intended to preserve Nepali identity in a foreign land. More than 150 Nepalis working, studying and
involved in business in Singapore including Nepali consulate attended the
function. Nepali Singapore Society is the first officially registered Nepali Society
in that country.

Ø 15 Apr 2008:
The monthly eastern classical musical performance named "Shastriya Sankranti" was held on 13th july at the Sama Theatre of Gurukul in Battis Putali, Kathmandu.The musical performance which is held on the first day of every Nepali month [the present one is Baisakh], featured Bhawa Nath Sharma - an 83-year-old exponent - on vocals, and Homnath Upadhyaya on tabla. Sharma gave a mesmerizing performance with his hour-long Dhrupad rendition.The program was sponsored by Amir Pratap Rana in the memory of his late wife and singer Ganga Rana.

Ø 12 Apr 2008:
The concert entitled “Flashback of Narayan Gopal” is scheduled to be held on 12th April at Nepal Academy Hall.Singer Kailash Rai is going to pay tribute to his singing idol through his songs.This will be a solo presentation by Rai.Nepalese Fashion Home and CAS Production are jointly organizing the show to also mark the completion of 100 years of Nepali modern music recording.The concert will feature renditions of a dozen and half of his songs like "Aankha Chhopi Narou Bhani", "Timro Jasto Mutu", "Parkhi Basen Aaula Bhani", "Malai Nasodha" and "Jhareko Paat Jhain Bhayo" by singer Rai.Rai is currently the principal of Sur Sadhana at Bag Bazaar and also works as a music teacher in several schools of the Valley.

Aspiring Singer Ujan Nembang has recently come out with his musical album entitled "Frenship" which comprises eight pop, folk and hip-hop-based songs.The album kicks off with the hip-hop flavored "Subedarkee Chhori Kanchhilai" which also features Kiran of Nepsydaz in the vocals.The album is released under the presentation of Times Music company.

Ø 08 Apr 2008: Pop Singer Nima Rumba, Mausami Gurung and DJ Raju are all set to leave
for a European tour which includes the various countries Germany,
Luxemburg, Spain, France and Belgium.They are scheduled to leave on the
10th of April.The Program is being organized by Himalaya
Pariwar,Munchen and Deutsch Nepalische Ges, Koln in aid of Aastha
Foundation Nepal.They shall come back on the 19th of May.

Ø 06 Apr 2008: Pop icon Nima Rumba is all set to do a TV commercial for the brand Coca-Cola with none other than Bollywood heavyweight Amir Khan after being roped in by Coca-Cola to endorse their product.The commercial will see the two as modern day heroes and that a part of the commercial will be shot in Bhaktapur.

Ø 04 Apr 2008: The Axe Rocked the Crowd The much awaited live solo concert of the popular band "The Axe Band" was successfully held on 22th March (Chaitra 9, 2064) at BICC, Kathmandu which received an overwhelming response from the youngsters. The band performed a rocking concert after a long hiatus which was applauded by the audiences. They kept the audience hypnotized with all of their popular numbers including their first song "Paloo danda ma basne kanchi" to their recent hit number "Euta Chittiko". Axix Band is all geared up to release their 2nd album titled "Maaf Gara" after a huge success of their first album .The album contains seven brand new songs with different flavours.The first song in the album is the title song itself and then "Muskan" ,"Maya Ko Artha", "Eklo Jeewan", "Timro Yaad", "Euta Geet" and "Hindda Hinddai".The song titled "Maya Ko Artha" featured Jwala in the RAP portion and the song "Timro Yaad" is dedicated to the mother of vocalist Sandeep B.K.The band members of this band has been changed and now Micheal on drums, Romit on bass, Hemjit and Saurav on guitars and Sandeep B.K, the frontman of the band on vocals.
